Genesis 2
Overview
Day 2 focuses in on God's creation of marriage and sexuality. We read in Genesis 2:18 that God declared, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him." God presents Eve to Adam and makes an important statement about the closeness that marriage and sexuality bring by declaring "the two shall become one flesh". On day 6 families will discover how this statement points to a greater reality and purpose behind sex and marriage, beyond merely human flourishing.

Children will also learn about rules on day 2, and how God (and parents) give rules for our protection, out of love. Specifically regarding sex, God has given some important rules; namely that sex should only exist within the confines of marriage between a husband and wife because he loves us and wants to protect us, and because sex is meant to produce children within the safety of family.

Lastly, families will learn about how Adam and Eve were "naked and unashamed", and that we should not be ashamed of our bodies. Specifically children will learn that their private parts are lovingly created by God and should be valued and protected.
