Overview

On Day 4 families will learn about The Gospel message. The Gospel is the central message of the Bible, and it explains the ultimate meaning and purpose for the creation of all things, specifically sex and marriage. Reading from John 3:16, families will learn about God's just punishment for sin, which is eternal death. They will then learn of God's compassion for humanity, in giving his own son a substitute for our punishment. (This theme is called atonement) Thirdly they will discuss the death and resurrection of Jesus. And finally they will learn about eternal life, and what it means to believe and trust in Jesus for salvation.

The hope for Day 4 is not merely that family members learn about the Gospel intellectually, but that they also see the hope it offers for them personally, and consider committing their lives to following and obeying Jesus. This decision can transform a person's heart, and change the way they approach the topics of sex and marriage. Rather than seeing life through the lens of personal fulfillment being the ultimate goal, God wants us to see life through the lens of giving God glory with our lives, and the Gospel does that.
